So, on Thursday was my first day as a transmitter of knowledge. Of course I was a bit nervous before I entered the classroom but as I'd prepared my first lesson well it went okay. The only thing is that it's really exhausting, at least if you're not used to it: I've got four hours a day after all, with eight students with different needs and preferences and then there's all that homework to grade and preparation time... leaves me hardly any free time at all at the moment so it's really a luxury for me to blog right now... but it's a really great experience and I'm glad that it all worked out like that!!
Some of my students...

the one on the right is ok but is a bit "European" looking for my tastes. Probably a Chris standard bird...

yeah i know and i actually find that a bit shocking.
i mean, in austria it's perfectly normal that you can walk into any school as a stranger and put up adverts for private tuition, schools with guarded gates are extremely rare or nonexistent, you can take photos of your students etc... and there doesn't seem to be any problem with it!
is crime against juveniles such a serious problem in britain or are they just being paranoid?
but thanks for the warning. i will be wary!

hey milou!
