Finally some more culture in Scousia?

Today I discovered that on the occasion of the Liverpool Biennal '06, that takes place between 16th Sept. and 26th Nov., there are pieces of modern and very active art displayed throughout the city, amongst others a walkable sculpture in St. John's Garden and these cages trapping the stone lions in front of St. George's Hall. The explanatory notes to these cages are:
We are used to seeing public space dominated by advertising and by signs giving us instructions or forbidding certain actions. Portuguese artist and political activist Rigo uses public space in a different way, creating installations or making interventions that shed new light on the covert structures and power relations of contemporary societies. The lion has been employed by ruling elites from the ancient Assyrians onwards as a symbol of power and dominance; in caging the stone lions on St. George's Plateau, Rigo paradoxically brings them to life, making us newly aware of their danger, their symbolic power to harm.
Yeah, ever thought about this before? Anyway, I haven't yet informed myself much about the Biennal '06 but I'm curious what other installations there might be to follow...
